About the
Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council

In Summer 2003, representatives of non-profit organizations, businesses, governmental agencies, and committed individuals from throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed convened at a summit in Annapolis, Maryland.  The participants had in common a dedication to the principles of conservation landscaping, and a desire to see it become more widely used in the Chesapeake Bay region.  As a result of that summit meeting, the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council was formed.

See our mission statement here and a timeline of activities here.

In 2008, a founding board was formed to guide CCLC through the process of becoming an independent nonprofit corporation.

In 2009, CCLC was designated a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Bylaws were enacted, and the first duly elected Board of Directors will be installed in October 2010.

The work of the organization is conducted by committees. New committee members are always welcome -- see Get Involved to learn how to join us.
